Jessica Porter is a hypnotherapist certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists. An actor since childhood, she attended New York University’s Masters of Fine Arts Program in Acting. As a performer, she has done improv, standup comedy, theater, TV and film. She designed Hypnosis For Actors in 2002 to help herself research a role more deeply.
Having kicked a two pack-a-day smoking habit using hypnosis in 1988, Jessica went on to become a hypnotherapist, specializing in smoking cessation, with a secondary focus in hypnosis for childbirth. She is an award-winning Faculty Member of the HypnoBirthing Institute (The Mongan Method) and has taught hypnosis to midwives, doctors and other birth professionals all over the world.
Jessica Porter has created and recorded three hypnosis CDs: HypnoParenting, Hip Chick Hypnosis and Healing with the Hip Chick.
Porter also teaches whole foods cooking and is the author of The Hip Chick’s Guide to Macrobiotics, The MILF Diet and collaborated with Alicia Silverstone on the #1 New York Times Bestseller The Kind Diet. She also collaborated with Tia Mowry on an upcoming cookbook.
